GETTING STARTED
Attending & Registration
I’ve never attended before and don’t know anyone. Can I still come?
Absolutely! You do not need to come with a friend or already know people in the group. The whole idea behind the Ladies Christmas Social is to have a fun evening with other women, meet new people, laugh, eat, drink, and enjoy a little Christmas craziness together. Come by yourself—you won’t be the only one. This is exactly what the night is about: a night with the girls!
Who can attend?
The Ladies Christmas Social is for women ages 21 and older. No men, children, or pets, please. Even the host’s husband gets kicked out for the evening!
Is there an age restriction for attending?
Yes. No one under 21 years old is permitted to attend.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes. As long as your friend is a woman age 21 or older and registers on her own, she’s welcome to attend. During registration, she should list your name as the person who invited her.
Do I need to register if I’ve attended before?
Yes. Everyone must register or RSVP for each year’s event, even if you’ve attended in previous years or are already a member of the Facebook group. The annual RSVP is how we manage the guest list and the private location email.
When does event registration close?
Registration closes at 8:00 p.m. on the Sunday before the event, which is two days before the Ladies Christmas Social.
Can I register after the deadline or just show up?
No. Registration closes the Sunday prior to the event for planning purposes, and walk-ins are not accepted. Please plan accordingly.
Is there a cost to attend?
There is no admission charge. Your only required contribution is your filled mug for the Mug Exchange.
THE HEART OF THE NIGHT
The Mug Exchange
What do I need to bring?
Each attendee must bring a mug—not a bowl, plate, or similar item—filled with goodies for the Mug Exchange. Visit The Mug Exchange for ideas, inspiration, and full details about how the exchange works.
Do I have to participate in the Mug Exchange?
Yes. The Mug Exchange is part of the evening, and every attendee must bring a filled mug to participate in the event.
How much should I spend on my mug?
There is no strict amount to spend. This is supposed to be fun! Make your mug and goodies something you would love to take home if you were the one receiving it. Your mug can be presented in a gift bag, wrapped in cellophane, or left unwrapped.
What should I put in my mug?
Your mug can be filled with candy, lotions, little gifts, gift cards, Christmas jewelry or décor, and all kinds of other fun things. A great idea is to choose a theme. One year we did “The Grinch,” with all the goodies built around that theme. Stack it high or keep it simple—get those creative juices flowing! Sometimes half the fun is piling everything up and hoping it doesn’t topple over.
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
Food & Drinks
Can I bring a bottle of wine or snack to share?
Absolutely. It’s wonderful when people bring something to share with the group, but it isn’t required. If you’d like to contribute, a dish, snacks, a bottle of wine, or something else you think the girls would enjoy is always welcome.
Can I come if I don’t drink alcohol?
Goodness, yes! While wine will be available, alcohol is completely optional. There will be plenty of drinks, snacks, conversation, and fun whether you drink alcohol or not.
THE BIG NIGHT
Location, Timing & Parking
When do I get the property address?
The exact event location is kept private. Everyone who has RSVP’d for that year’s event will receive the address by email the day before the event, using the email address associated with her registration. If you haven’t received the location email by then, please contact the organizer so your RSVP can be confirmed. The event is held in the Hidden Springs Community of Moreno Valley.
Can I share the address with someone else?
Please don’t share the event address. If a friend would like to attend, she must register separately before registration closes.
What time does the event start?
Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. The Mug Exchange normally takes place around 7:30–8:00 p.m.
Can I arrive late?
Of course. Life happens, especially around the holidays. If you need to arrive late, you’re still welcome to stop by. Just remember that the Mug Exchange usually happens around 7:30–8:00 p.m.
Where do I park?
The event is held on a cul-de-sac, so parking immediately near the house is limited. A larger nearby street has additional parking. If you need mobility-friendly parking, please arrive early so you can park as close as possible. The driveway isn’t available for guest parking because of the outdoor Christmas light display.
STAY COMFORTABLE
Comfort & Weather
What should I wear?
The event normally takes place outside. Since it’s December, evenings can get chilly. Check the forecast and dress for outdoor weather. Bring a jacket, and you’re welcome to bring a blanket if that will make you more comfortable.
Do I need to bring my own chair?
No. Chairs and tables will be provided.
What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?
If we’re “blessed” with rain, we’ll move the event inside and get to know each other even better! Rain may affect the outdoor light show, but the Ladies Christmas Social will still happen.
PLANS CHANGE
Changes & Community
I registered but now can’t attend. What should I do?
Please cancel your RSVP through the website so the guest list stays accurate, and send the organizer a text message to let her know your plans have changed. If possible, please avoid waiting until the day of the event, since a lot of planning goes into the evening and same-day cancellations or no-shows are difficult to accommodate.
Is there a Facebook Group for this event?
Yes! Join the Ladies Christmas Social Facebook Group for updates throughout the year, sample photos, a place to share your own pictures from the evening, and more. It is a closed group, so you may be contacted to confirm who invited you to the event.
Still have a question?
No problem. If you didn’t find what you were looking for, send us a message and we’ll be happy to help.
